This feature allows you to insert dialing prefixes for calls that are sent across QSIG trunks. Use this feature to pre-pend digits to incoming or outgoing caller identification numbers.
The following illustration shows an incoming call from the Central Office to a third-party switch. The call is then routed from the third-party switch to an extension on the 3300 ICP over a QSIG trunk.
In the example below, the incoming call has a Calling Party Number of type "Subscriber" with digits 1234567, and the Inward Dialing Prefixes form is programmed to prefix the "Subscriber" number with the digits 00. When the call arrives at the 3300 ICP, the system inserts the Calling Party Number Prefix Insertion digits at the beginning of the number. Therefore, when the 3300 ICP extension is presented with the call, the extension displays a calling party number of 001234567. If the extension redials this number, 001234567 is sent across the third-party switch.
The QSIG Enable Prefix Insertion box must be checked in the ISDN Protocol form.
This feature applies to both calling party and called party numbers.
