Line appearance keys are single or shared lines that appear on the telephone programmable keys (see Peripheral Devices).
There are three types of lines:
Prime: The Prime line is the identifying extension number of the set and is associated with the bottom programmable key.
Non-Prime: A Non-Prime line is any line appearance that is not the Prime line.
No Where Prime: If a line is No Where Prime, the associated extension number does not appear as a Prime line appearance anywhere in the system.
Each type of line is either a:
Single line: The extension number appears only on one set.
Key System line: The extension number appears on multiple sets; however, if one line appearance is in use, all other appearances are busy. When a call is placed on Hold, any line appearance can retrieve the call. See Groups Key System and Multicall for more information.
Multicall line: The extension number appears on multiple sets, and if one line appearance is in use, all other appearances of the line are idle. When a call is placed on Hold, only the originating set can retrieve the call. See Groups Key System and Multicall for more information.
Direct Trunk Select (DTS) line: The appearance provides direct access to an outside trunk. A DTS Line can either be a Single Line or a Key System line, but it cannot be a Prime line. See Trunk Select - Direct for more information.
