Messaging - Advisory

Description:

Messaging Advisory lets you select a short message to show display set users who call your telephone.

Conditions and Feature Interactions

• Messaging Advisory is only available on some phones; see Feature Availability below for more information.

• Messaging Advisory is not supported for phones operating in Swedish, Polish or Simplified Chinese. If you change a phone to an unsupported language, the Advisory Messages Superkey prompt is not presented and any active advisory message is turned off.

Programming

Program up to 20 messages per language in the Multiline Advisory Messages form.

Operation

SUPERSET 4015 telephones; 5010 IP Phone, 5207 IP Phone, 5212 IP Phone, 5304 IP Phone, 5312 IP Phone, 5215 IP Phone and 5215 IP Phone (Dual Mode):

To turn Messaging Advisory on:

1. Press SuperKey.

2. Press *.

3. Press # until the desired message appears.

4. Press *.

To turn Messaging Advisory off:

1. Press SuperKey.

2. Press *.

3. Press *.

5235 IP Phone

You select your message from a list of pre-defined messages. The message remains on the calling extension's LCD for the duration of ringing and is cleared when the caller hangs up or the call is answered.

To use Messaging Advisory:

1. Press the Superkey.

2. Press Messaging.

3. Press Advisory.

4. Press Next Message until you see the message you wish to display.

5. Enter the message number using the dialing keypad.

6. Press Enter to save.

SUPERSET 420, SUPERSET 4025, and SUPERSET 4125 telephones; 5020 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone and 5220 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5224 IP Phone, 5324 IP Phone, 5320 IP Phone, 5330 IP Phone, 5340 IP Phone, 5360 IP Phone, and Navigator:

To turn Messaging Advisory on:

1. Press SuperKey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330 IP Phone and 5340 IP Phone).

2. Press No until Advisory Msgs? appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Press Next until the message appears.

5. Press TurnOn.

To turn Messaging Advisory off:

1. Press SuperKey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330 IP Phone and 5340 IP Phone).

2. Press No until Advisory Msgs? appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Press TurnOff.

SUPERSET 430 and SUPERSET 4150 telephones:

To turn Messaging-Advisory on:

1. Press Messaging.

2. Press Advisory.

3. Press Next Msg until the message appears.

4. Press Turn Msg On.

To turn Messaging - Advisory off:

1. Press Messaging.

2. Press Advisory.

3. Press Turn Msg Off.

5140 IP Phone and 5240 IP Phone:

To turn Messaging Advisory on:

1. Press SETTINGS.

2. Press Messaging.

3. Press Advisory.

4. Do one of the following:
   - To see the next message press Next Message.
   - To turn the message on, press Turn Msg On.
   - To view a particular message, press Show Msg No and enter the number of the message.

To turn Messaging Advisory off:

1. Press SETTINGS.

2. Press Messaging.

3. Press Advisory.

4. Press Turn Msg Off.

Symbol NetVision Phone

To turn Messaging Advisory on:

1. Press FCT.

2. Press # until SuperKey is displayed

3. Press SND.

4. Press FCT until Advisory Messages? appears.

5. Press RCL.

6. Press Next until the message appears.

7. Press On.

To turn Messaging Advisory off:

1. Press FCT.

2. Press # until SuperKey is displayed

3. Press SND.

4. Press No until Advisory Messages? appears.

5. Press Yes.

6. Press Off.

To turn Messaging Advisory on:

1. Press FCT.

2. Press Top Arrow Key until SuperKey is displayed

3. Press the Send Key.

4. Press Top Right Hand Key until Advisory Messages? appears.

5. Press Top Left hand Key.

6. Press Next until the message appears.

7. Press On.

To turn Messaging Advisory off:

1. Press FCT.

2. Press Top Arrow Key until SuperKey is displayed

3. Press the Send Key.

4. Press Top Right Hand Key until Advisory Messages? appears.

5. Press Top Left Hand Key.

6. Press Off.

2. Press No until Advisory Msgs? appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Press Next until the desired message appears.

5. Press TurnOn.
