The outgoing Calling Party Number (CPN) feature delivers the calling party's Direct Inward Dialing (DID) number to the network on embedded PRI/QSIG trunks, embedded BRI trunks ("T" interface only), and SIP trunks. Rather than sending the actual DID, you may want to send a substitute directory number. You can define CPN substitution for individual DID numbers or ranges of DID numbers.
To set up the CPN Substitution table, enter a DID number or a range of DID numbers assigned in the system. Then enter the corresponding CPN substitution number to be used for that range. To associate substitutions with a link, program the CPN Substitution form.
Use this form when programming the following features or when performing the following tasks:
DID numbers must be from 3 to 7 digits in length.
All DID numbers entered in all fields must be the same length. For example, 990-1100 is not permitted since the range includes both three and four digit numbers.
The DID Range field allows a mix of range and single numbers. For example, "4000-4400,4500."
Numbers must be entered in numerical order. Thus, the entry "1090-1094,3980-3993,5342,3001" is incorrect because 3001 should be entered between "1090-1094" and "3980-3993."
DID numbers must surround the dash (-) and comma (,) characters. Dashes and commas cannot appear at the beginning or end of a string of DID numbers.
The number of overlay characters may not exceed the number of digits for a DID number.
Overlay characters must be contiguous and trailing all digits.

Description |
Default Value |
Index |
System-generated, protected field. You can configure up to 100 CPN substitution values. |
|
DID Range |
Enter one or more DID numbers (maximum 60 characters). You can enter a mix of ranges and single numbers (for example, "4000-4400,4500"). Use a comma (,) to separate DID numbers and ranges; use a dash (-) to indicate a range of DID numbers. The first and last characters in the field cannot be a comma or dash. |

CPN Substitution |
Enter the CPN number you want to substitute for any DID in the DID Range field. The CPN Substitution field can contain up to 14 characters. You can use up to 7 'x's ('overlay' characters) to indicate digits that are not affected during substitution. The number of overlay characters in the field must not exceed the number of digits in the DID number. Overlay characters must be contiguous and trailing all digits. For example, to substitute "6135922122" for "5552122", enter "613592xxxx". |
