DID Ranges for CPN Substitution

Purpose:

The outgoing Calling Party Number (CPN) feature delivers the calling party's Direct Inward Dialing (DID) number to the network on embedded PRI/QSIG trunks, embedded BRI trunks ("T" interface only), and SIP trunks. Rather than sending the actual DID, you may want to send a substitute directory number. You can define CPN substitution for individual DID numbers or ranges of DID numbers.

To set up the CPN Substitution table, enter a DID number or a range of DID numbers assigned in the system. Then enter the corresponding CPN substitution number to be used for that range. To associate substitutions with a link, program the CPN Substitution form.

Use this form when programming the following features or when performing the following tasks:

CPN Substitution

Enter the CPN number you want to substitute for any DID in the DID Range field. The CPN Substitution field can contain up to 14 characters.

You can use up to 7 'x's ('overlay' characters) to indicate digits that are not affected during substitution. The number of overlay characters in the field must not exceed the number of digits in the DID number. Overlay characters must be contiguous and trailing all digits.

For example, to substitute "6135922122" for "5552122", enter "613592xxxx".
