DHCP IP Address Range

Purpose:

The DHCP IP Address Range form is used to program the range of DHCP addresses available for assignment.  

Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Enter a text string to identify the DHCP address (optional).

System-generated, protected field. Indicates the subnet.

 

IP Range Start

Mandatory. Enter an IP Address format string.

Note: cannot be modified after it's created.

Protocol

Select "None", "BOOTP", "DHCP", or "BootP or DHCP" from the drop-down menu. BootP or DHCP is the default.

Client's Class ID Must Match Name

Optional. Check the box to enforce a match between user's name and DHCP class ID.

Lease Time

Used in combination with Lease Unit field. Enter a quantity to define the number of time periods.

Select a time period from the list. We recommend a value of at least 2 weeks.
