ARS Route Lists

Purpose:

The ARS Route Lists form provides a list of trunk routes to call according to customer requirements and cost. A type of terminal hunting is performed through this form by the ARS software in that the list of routes is scanned beginning with the first route specified, progressing to the more expensive routes only if the less costly alternatives are busy. During call processing the list is used to select from up to three available routes (listed by increasing cost).

Routes cannot be repeated in the Route List, but can appear in different route lists. The ARS Route Lists form is referred to by the ARS Digits Dialed form and ARS Route Plans form.

List Number

System-generated, protected field. A pre-printed list of List Numbers. The maximum number of Route Lists is 200. Route list numbers are referenced by the Termination field of the ARS Digits Dialed form and ARS Route Plans form.

 

1st Choice Route

Enter the first choice (least expensive) route. The route is identified by a 1-, 2-, or 3-digit route number in the range of 1 through 200. Note: If an MSDN/DPNSS link is available, it should be the first choice in a route list, as it will provide more features than a non-network link.

This route determines whether or not an account code is required.

2nd through 6th Choice Route

Enter a 1-, 2-, or 3-digit route number in the range of 1 through 200. Not all six choices need be specified for any list number.

2nd through 6th Choice Warning Tone

Select "Yes" if expensive warning tone is to be provided when the route is accessed. Select "No" or leave the column blank to disable warning tone for the route.
