The TRACE command toggles the display of messages that pass through the system. Each time you issue the TRACE command it turns message display on or off and updates the state of the command on the hard drive. The state (on or off) of the TRACE command is maintained after a system reset.
Note: The TRACE command should be used for data collection only. The data must be interpreted by Mitel designers. The data is not meant to be interpreted by customers or field technicians.
Virtual Digital Service Unit (VDSU) - A "virtual dsu" card inside of the system that behaves like a Formatter II or PRI card.
Trunk Service Provider (TSP) - The protocol stack for that trunk type (typically provides layer2/3 information)
FIM DEBUG <FIM number> qualifier toggles the output of the trace messages that pass through the specified Fiber Interface Module (FIM).
FIM PRINT <FIM number> qualifier toggles the printing of the data members of the FIM.
TSP L2L3 qualifier outputs the Layer 2 or Layer 3 switch traces for the PRI, QSIG, and BRI trunks.
TSP CC qualifier toggles the SP Call Control verbose message traces.
TSP MTCE qualifier toggles SP Maintenance verbose message trace.
TSP SRVC qualifier toggles SP Service verbose message trace.
VDSU UAPI qualifier toggles tracing between the Trunk Service Provider and the VDSU.
VDSU CP qualifier toggles Call Processing message tracing.
VDSU VB qualifier toggles Verbose message tracing. Note that you must enable VDSU CP message tracing before you can enable Verbose message tracing.
VDSU NAMNUM qualifier toggles the output of the called party number, calling party number, calling name, and disconnect cause reason on a per call basis.
Use the EDT ENABLE LOGTOFILE command to save the logging traces to a file named "LDS_Trace.rtf" in the "/db" directory. This log file must be interpreted by Mitel Design. It is not meant to be interpreted by field technicians.
