KILL PLID <unit> <shelf> <slot> <circuit> <channel>
Displays firmware information for the specified device or updates the firmware on devices that support firmware download.
Note: Firmware download is supported by SUPERSET 4025, 4125, and 4150 telephones.
The ALL qualifier displays the firmware in all installed cards.
The FIRMWARE command is not supported on the AX Controller or for the 5302 SIP Phone.
To display the firmware version for the device on a specific PLID, enter <FIRmware PLID n n n n n>. For example:
A three-digit PLID (such as 3 2 2) displays the card variant, revision level, and firmware version.
A four-digit PLID (for example 3 2 2 3) displays the firmware version on circuit 1. A warning appears if a firmware update is required.
A five-digit PLID (for example 3 2 2 3 1) displays the firmware version of the telephone on that circuit. A warning appears if a firmware update is required.
To update the firmware on all devices on a PLID that supports firmware download, enter <FIRmware KILL PLID n n n n n>. You may enter PLIDs in these formats:
two-digit PLID to update all devices on the shelf
three-digit PLID to update all devices in the slot
four-digit PLID to update all devices on the circuit
five-digit PLID to update the device on the channel.
To update the firmware on all devices of a specific type that support firmware download, enter <FIRmware KILL SET set-type>. For example: FIRmware KILL SET 4025.
A firmware upgrade requires approximately 4.5 minutes for each affected set. The duration may be several hours for a large number of sets. The firmware upgrade must not overlap Programmed Reboot or System Self Diagnostics. The system self diagnostics run times of 12:00am, 6:00am, 6:00pm, and 9:00pm are automatic and cannot be changed.
Note: Issue the FIRM KILL command to fewer ports (for example one card PLID) at a time to reduce process times and avoid the possibility of overlap.
On the SUPERCONSOLE 1000, this command is found under the REPORTS group of commands.
