MESSAGE (ME)

Qualifiers:

SUBSYSTEM

Purpose:

Displays the status of a group of message links.

Details:

The REMOTE qualifier is used to display the status of remote message links. Idle or unassigned links are not displayed.

The SUBSYSTEM qualifier is used to display the status of the message links to peripheral processors, active and inactive, as well as the DSUs.

On the SUPERCONSOLE 1000, this command is found under the REPORTS group of commands.

Cab

Refers to the cabinet in which the node exists.

  • Note: ASUs and SX-200 Bays appear as a "Peripheral Controller."

Link Status

Status of the link between the specified lower and upper nodes, where the following terms apply:

OPEN - good working order
SCAN - the upper node is attempting to establish communication with the lower node
BOOT  - lower node is being loaded by upper node
CLOSE  - node is down; not working

Lower Message Node

The lower level processor (or smart card) on a specific message link which can be one of the following:

Peripheral Controller

Conference

Data Transceiver

DS1 Formatter

CEPT Formatter

Tone Detector

Plane ID

The plane on which the specified node exists:

Active

 

A = plane A

Plane Status

Status of the specified plane.

Shelf

Refers to the shelf in which the node exists.

Slot

Refers to the card slot in which the node exists.
