Use the Programmed Service Schedule command to schedule the daily occurrence of the service change between day or Night 1 or Night 2 operation.
Weekends or holidays (when you may not want the scheduled service change to occur) can be accommodated by turning the event scheduler off. You have two options for doing this:
Change the service from Day to Night1 or Night2 manually, from a console, or designated set.
or,
issue a Programmed Service Schedule Off command through the system administration console.
You can reactivate the event scheduler following the holiday or weekend using the console, a designated set or the system administration console.
Note: The same method that was used to disable service schedules before weekends or holidays should be used to re-enable them when the holiday or weekend has passed.
The configured scheduled service change is not retained when the database is saved or restored, which means that software upgrade deletes any configured scheduled service changes you have made prior to restore. To re-establish scheduled service change, you must reprogram the parameters after the software upgrade.
An automatic service change is handled as if the feature access code was dialed from a set. The service changes on the consoles in the default tenant group. If any consoles are "operator present", they will stay at "operator present" until manually put into "operator absent".
If the last console in "operator present" wants to go absent before the programmed service change to Night1 or Night2 service:
Either the attendant must put the service into Night1 or Night2 manually
or,
the attendant must wait until the programmed service activates the Night1 or Night2. service, before changing the console to "operator absent".
So, if there is an attendant present answering and queuing calls, the programmed service when activating night1 or night2 service would not disable the console. It is the attendant's responsibility to determine when the console should go absent.
Notes:
If tenanting is configured on the switch, only the Landlord or Default Tenant will be allowed to disable or enable the Programmed Service Schedule from a console or designated set within that default tenant group.
Programmed services scheduling settings are preserved after a system reboot.
The programmed service configuration that was in effect before a scheduled or unscheduled system reboot is preserved when the system comes up after the reboot.
