SDS - Viewing Data Distribution Alarms

A system Data Distribution alarm is generated if the number of SDS data distribution errors exceeds the Minor alarm threshold. By default, the Minor alarm threshold for Data Distribution errors is 0, so an alarm will be present whenever there is one or more distribution errors. The alarm is cleared when the number of errors no longer exceeds the threshold.

SDS data distribution errors are typically caused by the following error conditions:

Data Distribution alarms are displayed in the Alarms Details forms. There are two alarm categories:

System Data Sharing Alarm

The system generates a System Data Sharing Alarm after the first data sharing error occurs.

SDS Usage Alarm

The system generates a minor alarm after the number of updates in the SDS Shared Data Updates form exceeds 200, and a major alarm after the number exceeds 10000. For both alarm categories, you clear the alarm by resolving the pending updates. After the number of errors falls below the threshold level the system will clear the alarm.

The maximum number of updates that the form can contain is 20000. After the 20000 limit is reached, the system will prevent you from making any further changes to the records in the shared forms. In addition, any changes to telephone user data through the telephone user interface (TUI) will not be shared between the primary and secondary controllers.

Before the system will allow you to start making changes again, you must reduce the number of updates in the SDS Shared Data Updates form (see Resolving Pending Updates or Errors).
