Language Change lets you change the language of the telephone softkeys and display messages. You can select any one of the following languages:
English
French
EU Spanish (Europe)
LA Spanish (Latin America)
Dutch
Italian
German
PT Portuguese (Europe)
Romanian
Russian (5212, 5215 Dual Mode, 5220 Dual Mode, and 5224 IP Phones, and Navigator only)
Swedish
Polish
Simplified Chinese (5312, 5324, 5320, 5330, 5340, 5360 IP Phones only)
Note: If you attempt to change the language on a phone to a language that is not supported by that phone, the operation will fail and the language will remain unchanged.
Language Change applies to all display telephones, 5140 IP Phone, 5230 IP Phone, 5240 IP Phone and 5550 IP Console.
For the 5235 IP Phone, if you attempt to select an unsupported language through the Settings shutter, the phone will display an error message, and the language will not be changed.
For the 5235 IP Phone, the languages supported on the switch and 5235 Applications are different. For example, Romanian is supported on the switch but not supported by the 5235 Applications. If Romanian is selected on the switch, the 5235 Applications will be displayed in default language (English). The displayed language in the "Languages Window" on the 5235 set will be Romanian (Unsupported).
The languages supported on the 5235 include: English, French (Canadian), Spanish (Latin American and European), German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese (European), Swedish, and Polish.
You should change the language for the 5235 IP Phones through the Settings shutter. This changes both the switch language (Call Control) and Applications language. When the phone language is changed through Superkey, only the switch (Call Control) language is changed.
The system can support up to three languages at one time.
When a 5550 IP Console user enters the System Administration Tool, the status line display does not change to conform to the language of the programming operations. For example, even if the status line display is French, programming is performed in English. For proper English feedback, the user should select English language before performing any programming or maintenance function.
Language Change is not supported for Symbol NetVision IP phone, Symbol MiNET Wireless phone, Mitel 5005 IP Phone, or 5205 IP Phone.
If you change the language of a phone to either Swedish, Polish, or Chinese, the Messaging Advisory feature is not supported on that phone and any active advisory message is turned off.
Russian, Swedish, and Polish on the Navigator are only supported for text that appears in the device's LCD. They are not supported by the Navigator Task Bar application that runs on the user's PC.
Programmable key labeling in Chinese from the phone is not supported; use the Multiline Set Keys form or the Desktop Tool instead.
Date
and Time display for Simplified Chinese uses the month number
Local 1 and Local 2 languages are English by default and can be modified by Mitel-authorized personnel to display languages other than those listed above.
Designate the default language by using the LANGUAGE SELECT maintenance command.
Enter the messages in the Multiline Advisory Messages form. Note that Swedish or Polish messages are not supported.
