Intercept Handling

Purpose:

The Intercept Handling form allows the customer to program how the system treats various intercept conditions as they arise in call processing. There are two categories of intercepts in the system:

There are two possibilities for specifying how an intercept is to be processed: Directory Number or Tone. Only one or the other may be specified for a given intercept reason.

Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Field Descriptions

Parameter

Description

Default Value

Intercept Number

System-generated, protected field.

Account Code Violation

A call was attempted with an invalid account code dialed.

Reorder Tone

Attendant in Night Service 1

A call was made to an attendant console which was in Night Service 1 and Attendant Absent.

  • Note: For MLPP installations, the first Intercept Handler (Intercept 1) contains the routing information for the MLPP Call Diversion Directory Number (as programmed in the MLPP form) when the system is in Night Service 1. Enter only DNs of valid MLPP Call Diversion Directory Numbers in this field.

  • Note: Choosing the Tone option for MLPP installations causes the system to behave as if no MLPP Call Diversion Directory Number is programmed while the system is Night Service 1 mode. Consequently, there will be no diversion of unanswered precedence calls.

Reorder Tone

Attendant in Night Service 2

A call was made to an attendant console that was in Night Service 2 and Attendant Absent.

Reorder Tone

COS violation

An operation requested that is not allowed in the caller's Class of Service.

Reorder Tone

Directory Number Out of Service

The number dialed is not currently in service.

If "Tone" is selected, the intercept treatment is also accompanied <by> an "OUT OF SERVICE" (for inter-network calls) or "NOT ALLOWED"(for intra-network) message on the calling party's display.

Reorder Tone

Holding Party Locked Out

The caller was on hold at a station that was subsequently locked out due to inactivity.

Reorder Tone

Interconnect Restriction

Access to the device requested by the caller is disallowed. See the Interconnect Restriction Table.

Reorder Tone

MLPP Blocked Precedence

A precedence call cannot be completed because the called subscriber is engaged in a call of equal or higher precedence and does not have call forwarding enabled, or because there are insufficient network resources.

You can program the system to 1) route the intercepted call to a directory number such as a RAD hunt group that is programmed to play an appropriate announcement, 2) return reorder tone, or 3) return dial tone.

Reorder Tone

MLPP Cannot Preempt

A precedence call cannot be completed because the called subscriber is not preemptable (Preemptable Subscriber set to "no" on the MLPP form), and does not have call forwarding enabled.

You can program the system to 1) route the intercepted call to a directory number such as a RAD hunt group that is programmed to play an appropriate announcement, 2) return reorder tone, or 3) return dial tone.

Reorder Tone

MLPP Unauthorized Precedence Level

The caller has dialed a precedence digit higher than his or her maximum authorized level.

You can program the system to 1) route the intercepted call to a directory number such as a RAD hunt group that is programmed to play an appropriate announcement, 2) return reorder tone, or 3) return dial tone.

Reorder Tone

Toll Denial - ARS Digits

Access to the external number dialed is denied because of the caller's Class of Restriction. The COR conflict arose in the initial processing of dialed digits (see COR Group Number in the ARS Leading Digits form).

Reorder Tone

Toll Denial - Route Digits

Access to the external number dialed is denied because of the caller's Class of Restriction. The COR conflict arose in the final processing of the dialed digits (see COR Group Number in the ARS Routes form).

Reorder Tone

Trunk Out of Service

(MLPP only) All outgoing trunks for the dialed ARS are out of service. You can program the system to forward the call to the directory number of a RAD that is programmed to play an appropriate announcement.

Reorder Tone

Trunk Re-ring

The CO has recalled the attendant after a system-initiated disconnect (Italy only).

Reorder Tone

Unassigned Directory Number

The number dialed does not correspond to any device or station.
