Intercept Handling lets the system control what happens to a call when the call cannot be completed to the required destination. A call may be routed to a tone or to a directory number. Two alternate destinations may be programmed for each condition.
The destination cannot be a feature access code or an ARS digit string.
Intercept Handling can manage the following situations:
directory number out of service
directory number not reachable (as may occur when the caller and destination not part of the same Portable Directory Number (PDN) cluster)
unassigned directory number
COS violation
toll denial ARS digits
toll denial route digits
interconnect restriction
holding party locked out
attendant in night service 1
attendant in night service 2.
Complete the Intercept Handling form.
Enter an Intercept Number for each station and trunk in the Station Attributes and Trunk Attributes forms.
Note: A default of 1 is automatically assigned; in instance 1 of the form, all intercepts go to a reorder tone by default.
