VM Prompt Languages

Purpose:

The VM Prompt Languages form is used to set the default prompt language, the alternate language for bilingual prompting (if required), and to define the number dialed by users to switch between languages.

Select the language to use for voice mail prompts.

  • Note: English Overlaid (North America) and Dutch Overlaid have numeric prompts (e.g., "Press 7 for Play."). The non-overlaid versions have alphabetic prompts (e.g., "Press P for Play).

Enable this option to prompt in the default language and an alternate language.

Language Toggle

Enter one digit only (from one to eight) that users dial to hear prompts in the alternate language. Note that although it is possible to enter a number that is the length of a mailbox number, it is not recommended. The length of mailbox numbers is assigned on the set by an administrator.

  • Note: Zero is reserved for Operator; Nine is reserved for access to the Personal Directory (Dial by Name).
