Range Forms Fields

Purpose:

Range programming makes it easy to add, change, or delete a group of records. You can define the number of records, the change action for each field, assign values, and choose the number by which the value increases.

For read only fields, the field name and value will be displayed and the remaining columns will contain a dash (-).

Parameter

Description

Field Name

System-generated, protected field. The read-only field name will be placed as a label in the first column, followed by a colon.

Change Action

The Change Action column contains a drop-down list for each field that can be programmed. The list will become active when you elect to change more than one record. The list will display the following choices:

"Leave all unchanged" means that the Range Program will not change the data that is programmed for each field across the range. When this option is chosen, the "Value to change" and "Increment by" fields will be disabled for that row.

"Change all to" will enable the "Value to change" field and cause all fields for that row to be changed to whatever you enter.

"Increment" will allow you to enter a start value in the "Value to change" field, as well as an increment value in the "Increment by" field.

Value to change

The column is disabled until you choose "Change all to" or "Increment" in the Change action column for that row, and more than one record is being edited.

  • Note: If you are entering a range of numbers, the last entry in the Number field string must be a digit. It cannot be an * or #.

Increment by

This field will be enabled when you choose "Increment" in the Change action column for that row.
