System Speed Calls

Purpose:

The System Speed Calls form defines the system speed call numbers accessible from all phones and special sets in the system.

Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Speed Call Number

Enter the abbreviated numbers which are to be used as system speed call numbers. The numbers entered may contain up to seven digits. The speed call number must be unique. A speed call number, once entered in the system, cannot be modified. In order to change a speed call number, it is necessary to first delete the old speed call number and its corresponding actual number, and then enter the new speed call number/actual number pair at the bottom of the form.

Actual Number

Enter the actual telephone number that the speed call number represents. The numbers entered may contain up to 26 digits. The same actual number entry may appear more than once in the form. The actual number entry must not be another speed call number. All feature access codes are allowed as actual numbers.

Overrides Toll Control

Select "Yes" if the speed call number will be allowed to override ARS toll control; select "No", or leave the entry blank, if the feature is to be disabled.

Type

For a system that is not clustered, use the default value (S/C).

For systems that belong to a cluster, select "Int" to allow SDS to distribute the speed call number to the other elements in the cluster as a Remote Directory Number. If you select "Int", users on any element in the cluster can dial the system speed call number to place a call to the actual number.
