VM Port Capacity

Purpose:

The VM Port Capacity form sets the number of ports available for voice mail use. Each port supports a single Auto Attendant and/or voice mail session.

Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Conditions

The maximum number of ports available varies by controller type.

CX/CXi/CX II/CXi II	Hard-coded based on the number of DSP devices installed and allocated to telecom applications: 4 if one telecom DSP installed 16 if more than one telecom DSP installed. Refer to the Engineering Guidelines for more details.
AX	20
All others	30 Note: To support more than 20 ports, the system requires the equivalent of two Quad DSP Modules (21161). Refer to the Engineering Guidelines for details. Refer to the FRU Part Numbers section in the Technician's Handbook for the Quad DSP Module part number.

When more than 20 voice mail ports are programmed, an alarm is generated at the next system re-boot if additional DSP resources cannot be allocated.
All other statically-defined DSP requirements take precedence over the 21+ ports so basic telephony will function.
Each Record a Call session consumes one voice mail port.
Each RAD greeting set consumes one voice mail port.
