If the computer that you are using to access a 3300 ICP tool has pop-up blocker software installed, the administration tools (System Administration, Group Administration, or Desktop Tool) may not operate properly. For example, pop-up blocker software may prevent you from logging in, licensing your system, or completing a successful backup or restore.
If pop-up blocker software is operating on your computer, you may experience situations similar to the following when you attempt to log in, backup, restore, or perform another administrative activity:
no dialogue appears
no changes seem to be happening
you receive a "script error" message
To access the administration tool or perform the administrative activity that the pop-up blocker software is preventing, you must allow pop-ups from the 3300 ICP. Follow the procedures provided in your pop-up blocker software provider's help files.
The following web browsers or web browser toolbars may install pop-up blocker software on your computer:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) Internet Explorer 6.0 (or later) – pop-up blocker is enabled by default upon installation
Google Toolbar
Yahoo Toolbar
Note: This list names common pop-up blocker software providers, but it is not a comprehensive list. You may have other pop-up blocker software installed on your computer.
Enable pop-ups before logging in. Depending on your web browser, you may be required to
Change pop-up blocker settings and specify particular URLs where pop-ups should always be permitted
or
Click a pop-up button on your web toolbar to permanently allow pop-ups at the URL you are currently viewing.
Note: When you are logged in to the System Administration Tool, and you click the toolbar pop-up button, a dialogue may appear asking if you wish to navigate away from the current page. Click Cancel to remain logged in to the System Administration Tool.
For more information about enabling pop-ups, access the online help of your pop-up blocker software provider. For example, to enable pop-ups on Windows XP SP2 Internet Explorer, you may open Internet Explorer, click Help on the menu bar, search for "Pop-up Blocker Settings" in the help files provided, and follow the procedures for enabling pop-ups.
