The default login procedure that users follow to access their voice mailbox from the Auto Attendant requires that they press the * key when the system answers, followed by their mailbox number and passcode.
An alternate procedure used by other Mitel messaging products is available. It allows users to log in by entering their mailbox number when the Auto Attendant answers, followed by * and their passcode.
Notes:
The alternate login procedure will not work for the Administrator's mailbox. The default procedure (* + mailbox number + password) must be used instead.
Both login procedures will work for extension-type mailboxes on systems programmed to use the alternate procedure.
To change the mailbox login procedure:
Press [9].
When prompted for a Technician function code, enter 20401 to enable the alternate login procedure or to 20402 revert to the default procedure.
