When an attendant transfers an external caller to an extension, the attendant is recalled after the No Answer Recall Timer expires. By default, after the attendant is recalled and is ringing, the destination is released and the extension stops ringing. However, you can enable COS option "Maintain Ringing Party During Recall" in the class of service of the attendant to allow the call to ring the console and continue ringing the destination extension until either answers the call.
This option is supported
on extensions as well as attendant consoles
for unsupervised transfers of trunk calls to either local or remote extensions
locally on a 3300 ICP and across a private network that uses DPNSS protocol (leased line DPNSS, IP Trunking, or XNET) or QSig protocol.
This option applies only to No Answer recall; it does not apply to Camp-on recall.
This option is NOT supported
if the MLPP feature is enabled
if Clustered Hospitality features or Suite Services are used on the call
for the Network Attendant Recall feature.
Interactions with other features when the option is enabled are as follows:
If call forwarding or rerouting to a local destination is in effect at the station, ringing continues at both the console and the forwarding/rerouting destination until the call is answered by the attendant or the other parties.
If the call forwarding or rerouting destination is at a remote switch, the original transfer destination continues ringing for the duration of the recall. In the meantime, if the Call Forward No Answer/Reroute timer in the transfer destination's COS expires the new destination normally continues ringing in parallel with the recall at the console.
Calls transferred to Hunt, Pickup, or Ring groups continue to ring the individual group member or the entire Ring group after the recall. When a call to a Ring group is forwarded to a local overflow point and the recall occurs, then the current ringing party continues to ring until either the console or the ringing station answers the call.
Ensure that the MLPP application is not enabled in the License and Option Selection form. This option is not supported if the MLPP application is enabled.
Enable COS option "Maintain Ringing Party During Recall" in the class of service of the attendant or extension.
For public network trunks that are local to the attendant console (on the same system), set the No Answer Recall Timer to the desired value in the COS of the incoming public network trunks.
For public network trunks that are on a remote system, set the No Answer Recall Timer to the maximum value in the COS of the incoming public network trunks. Set the No Answer Recall Timer of the incoming DPNSS trunk in the COS on the attendant console system to the desired value.
After the attendant transfers an external call to a local or remote extension, if the call is unanswered the call recalls the attendant console. The call continues to ring at both the console and the extension until the call is answered.
