Call Waiting Swap has been renamed to Call Waiting - Swap Automatic to address a misconception that the Camp-on (Call Waiting) and Conference features cannot be used at the same time. Call Waiting - Swap Automatic is provided to users of 2500 phones who want more convenience when they use Camp-on. Although users who have Call Waiting - Swap Automatic cannot access Conference calls when they swap calls, users who have Camp-on can access Conference calls when they swap calls.
Call Waiting Swap lets you use the switchhook to alternate between two calls when a party camps on to your station or when you have a call on Consultation Hold.
Call Waiting Swap applies only to 2500 telephones.
If the held party hangs up while you are connected to the camped-on party, you will receive dial tone when you flash the switchhook.
If you have a call on Consultation Hold when you hear Camp-on Tone, you will swap to the held party when you flash the switchhook.
If you have Camp-on Tone Security, you will not hear Camp-on Tone; however, if you flash the switchhook when someone is camped-on, you will swap to the camped-on party instead of receiving dial tone.
When this option is enabled, you cannot:
flash the switchhook to dial feature access codes when you are engaged with two parties
setup a Conference (but you can be involved in Conferences)
Call Waiting Swap is available only to the master station of a hunt group for incoming calls.
Call Waiting Swap will not operate if you are a silent monitoring supervisor waiting to monitor or actively monitoring an agent.
Enable Call Waiting Swap in the Class of Service Options form.
See the Feature-Phone Matrix (PDF or Microsoft Excel version) for a list of phones that can use this feature.
