The Device Connectivity - Moved form displays the previous and last known network locations for moved IP devices. The network location is indicated by the MAC (Media Access Control) address and port identifier of the Layer 2 switch where the IP device is connected.
This form lists only moved IP devices that have not been
acknowledged ("Move Acknowledged" set to "No"). Use
this form to track moved IP devices and ensure that system programming
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
For more information:
For some hardware manufacturers or network configurations, the STP Layer 2 switch returns the port's designated port number and not the physical port number when queried by the IP device. This designated port number is assigned to the port during STP convergence. A CDP Layer 2 switch always returns the physical port number.
In order for the system to detect device connectivity information, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and/or Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) must be enabled wherever Mitel IP devices will be connected to your network. To find out if STP and/or CDP are enabled, contact your Network Administrator.
If the system cannot determine the MAC and port, it displays one of the following messages in the Previous or Last Known MAC address and port fields:
"Unknown"
"Not supported"
