The Remote Directory Numbers form lists the remote portable directory numbers in a cluster network that is configured with the portable directory number feature. Remote portable directory numbers belong to devices that are connected to remote cluster elements. In relation to the network element that you are programming, all other elements in the cluster network are remote elements.
For resiliency, SIP devices must be identified by directory number to both the primary and secondary controllers.
A remote directory telephone number cannot translate into a programmed local directory number.
To keep resilient directory entries in the RDN form synchronized between primary and secondary controllers, enable the System Data Synchronization feature.
If Remote Directory Number Synchronization is enabled for the cluster, this form is read-only.
CAUTION: Do not make changes directly to this form. The only exception to this rule is if there are inconsistent Remote Directory Numbers (RDNs) or mismatched device types in databases of the primary and secondary controllers. In this case, you use this form to delete the inconsistent RDNs from all the elements in the cluster except for the primary controller.
