Before message notification can take place, either:
Edit the mailbox settings in the Voice Mailbox forms or the Administrator's Mailbox for each user requiring notification and enter the notification type and number. This process causes notification to be on 24 hours a day for the user.

You can allow individual users to modify their own mailbox type and number by enabling the Notification Access option in the Voice Mailboxes form.
Note: Each user can turn their notification off or adjust the notification schedule as needed. Refer users to their Voice mail User Guide for these procedures.
Enter the notification type and number as follows:
Notification
Type. Indicate where notification is to take place:
- internal extension
- outside phone number
- message pager
- tone-only pager (beeper)
- digital pager
Notification Number. The user supplies this number to you. If the number is a pager number, use the information given in Pager Number Parameters, for entering pager numbers.
Notification Access. Give the user the ability to modify his or her own notification type and number.
Notes:
Guest mailboxes do not provide users with user access to message notification.
An outside phone number can be assigned to one mailbox only. To provide message notification to the same number from multiple mailboxes, program the number to a different system speed call (one per mailbox) and enter the speed call number as the Notification Number.
