Responding to Bandwidth Management Alarms

If Bandwidth Management alarms are occurring at the ZAP between two zones on a regular basis, you may want to increase the bandwidth available between the zones. You may also want to observe the time of day at which these alarms occur. Ask your IT administrator to increase the amount of bandwidth that is available for the voice media stream between the two zones. Then, increase the limit in the Network Zone Topology form to reflect the increase.

If alarms are never generated at a ZAP between two zones, the Bandwidth limit for the media stream between those two zones may be set too high. Some of the bandwidth could possibly be reallocated to data requirements. Contact your IT administrator to have the limit lowered. Then decrease the limit in the Network Zone Topology form to reflect the new lower limit.

You may also need to change the bandwidth thresholds that have been configured in the Bandwidth Management form. See Changing Bandwidth Thresholds.
