Telephone calls made by the guest are monitored, and if meter pulses are received from the Central Office, then the calls made from a room extension are metered and the accumulated total is stored. Surcharge and Multiplier (cost per meter pulse) values entered in the Hotel Options form (see figure) can be used to calculate the cost of the calls.
Copies of the call totals can be printed on demand or printed automatically at a specific time of day. Totals for a particular guest are cleared when that guest is checked out, or can be cleared by pressing the CLEAR MSG REG softkey in Guest Room mode (for example, when a guest wants to pay for his/her calls on a daily basis).
If meter pulses are not received from the Central Office, then only the number of outgoing calls are counted.
External calls sent over MSDN/DPNSS circuits do not accumulate meter pulses.
If the Message Registration Reports are to be printed out at a specified time each day, the time must be entered in the Hotel Options form.
The total cost of the calls is based
on the following:
(no. of calls X surcharge) + (meter pulses X multiplier)
If meter pulses are not available
the total cost is based on:
no. of calls X surcharge
