For MLPP installations, the system hardware is configured as follows:
IP phones connect to Layer 2 switches.
Mitel Superset display telephones are supported by a peripheral node that connects to a Fiber Interface Module in the controller via fiber optic cable.
T1 and PRI connections are supported through embedded T1 modules and through a Network Service Unit (NSU).
Analog telephones are supported through an Analog Services Unit (ASU), AMB Analog Main Board (MX Controller with embedded analog), or peripheral node.
The Maintenance PC is used to program the 3300 ICP. It accesses the controller using both an RS-232 and an IP connection. Security-related MLPP programming is done though the RS-232 connection. All other programming done through an IP connection to the System Administration Tool.
