MLPP Installation

For MLPP installations, the system hardware is configured as follows:

• IP phones connect to Layer 2 switches.

• Mitel Superset display telephones are supported by a peripheral node that connects to a Fiber Interface Module in the controller via fiber optic cable.

• T1 and PRI connections are supported through embedded T1 modules and through a Network Service Unit (NSU).

• Analog telephones are supported through an Analog Services Unit (ASU), AMB Analog Main Board (MX Controller with embedded analog), or peripheral node.

• The Maintenance PC is used to program the 3300 ICP. It accesses the controller using both an RS-232 and an IP connection. Security-related MLPP programming is done though the RS-232 connection. All other programming done through an IP connection to the System Administration Tool.
