MLPP is available in 3300 Release 8.0 and later.
MLPP replaces the Autovon feature. Autovon is not supported in Release 6.0 or later.
MLPP is supported on CXi, CXi II, and MXe only.
Precedence levels cannot be assigned to Basic Rate ISDN calls.
Calls at a precedence level above Routine that cannot be completed are routed to programmable intercepts (either MLPP Blocked Precedence or MLPP Cannot Preempt).
Calls at a precedence level above Routine cannot campon (unlike Routine precedence level calls).
The system routes calls above Routine precedence level that cannot be completed to a programmable answer point after a programmable timeout.
You can only make MLPP calls on T1 ISDN PRI (NI2 Bellcore and NI2 5ESS variants only) trunks that are connected to the system through the NSU or the embedded NSU and that are programmed to support T1619a signalling. Calls can be made on other trunks (for example, T1/CAS, E1 PRI), but MLPP functionality is not available.
PSTN PRI interfaces must be T1.619a compliant to be compatible.
If the precedence level of a call (either internal or on an incoming trunk) is above ROUTINE and the called subscriber is busy on a lower precedence level call, the system will attempt to preempt the call that is in progress. If the called subscriber is pre-emptable, the system will present the new call to the subscriber. This functionality interworks with, and sometimes overrides, call completion or diversion features such as Call Forwarding.
A call at a precedence level above Routine cannot preempt a non-MLPP-capable trunk circuit or a non-pre-emptable subscriber. However, such circuits will be released if they are busy with a circuit that the system is allowed to preempt.
MLPP does not support the following 3300 ICP features:
ACD agents
Call Park
Clustered Call Pickup
DISA
Embedded voice mail
Hotel/Motel, Hospitality and PMS
Networked Hunt Groups
Tenanting
Unified Communicator Mobile
Bandwidth Management
MLPP is supported on the following devices only:
5360 IP Phone
5340 IP Phone
5330 IP Phone
5320 IP Phone
5310 IP Conference Unit
SUPERCONSOLE 1000
Superset 4015
Superset 4025
Standard analog sets
The 5550 IP Console does not support MLPP
CLASS/CLIP sets do not support the display of MLPP information. Calls on CLASS/CLIP sets can, however, be preempted.
Preemption Tone, Precedence Ringback, and Conference Disconnect Tone are not present in the Tone Demonstration list.
The MLPP form is not supported by the System Data Synchronization feature. If MLPP is deployed in a clustered environment, you will need to program the MLPP form on each cluster element. All elements in the cluster must have the MLPP option enabled.
The Tone Demonstration feature does not support Preemption tone and Precedence Ringback tone.
If you enable MLPP on a new installation, the PC ports on Mitel IP Phones are disabled by default. You can enable the PC ports by setting COS option "Enable Mitel IP Phone PC Port" to "Yes" in the Class of Service of the phones. If you enable MLPP while the system is running, or if you upgrade software on a system that already has MLPP enabled, the existing settings for this COS option are maintained.
MLPP is not supported for ACD agents.
Bandwidth Management is not supported in MLPP installations. Using it may block calls that MLPP would otherwise allow to pass.
