The Fax Service Profiles form is used to define the settings for FAX communication over the IP network. You can modify the default settings for the:
Inter-zone FAX profile: defines the FAX settings between different zones in the network. There is only one Inter-zone FAX profile; it applies to all inter-zone FAX communication. It defaults to 14,400 bps.
Intra-zone FAX profiles: define the FAX settings within each zone in the network.
Profile 1 defines the settings for G.711 pass through communication.
Profiles 2 to 64 define the settings for FAX Relay (T.38) FAX communication.
All zones default to G.711 pass through communication (Profile 1).
Use this form when performing the following tasks:

Description |
Default Value |
Profile |
A number from 2 to 64 that identifies the Intra-zone profile. You assign this Intra-zone FAX profile number to a zone in the Network Zones form. All zones default to Profile 1. You cannot modify Profile 1. |
|
Maximum FAX Rate |
Allows you to set the maximum rate of FAX data communication:
|
144000 |
High Speed Redundancy |
Enter the number (0 to 3) of repeated FAX data packets. Increase this value for low quality networks. Note that if you increase this number, you also increase the amount bandwidth used on the network for FAX communication. |
0 |
Low Speed Redundancy |
Enter the number (0 to 8) of repeated FAX signalling packets. Increase this value for low quality networks. Note that if you increase this number, you also increase the amount bandwidth used on the network for FAX communication. |
3 |
ECM |
Allows you to disable or enable Error Correction Mode (ECM). ECM automatically detects and correction errors in FAX transmissions that can be caused by noise on the telephone line. Enabled: allows ECM to be sent over the IP network. Disabled: prevents ECM from being sent over the IP network even if ECM is enabled on the FAX machines. |
Disabled |
NSF Override |
Allows you to enable or disable Non-Standard Facilities (NSF). NSF are capabilities that a manufacturer has built into a FAX machine to distinguish it from other manufacturer's FAX machines. Enabled: Blocks the NSF capabilities. Disabled: Allows NSF capabilities. |
Disabled |
NSF Vender Code Value |
If NSF override is enabled, enter a decimal value to set the 16 bit field (0 -0xFFFF). Typically, this value is set to 0. |
0 |
NSF Country Code Value |
A 16 bit field (0 – 0xFFFF) that is used when NSF override is enabled. Usually set to 0. Input will be in decimal. |
0 |
Label |
Enter a label up to 22 characters in length for the profile. |
