Configure FAX Over IP Support

  1. Plan the zone topology (see Collect Site Information).

  2. It is recommended that you enable System Data Synchronization (SDS) for the network.

  3. License and Option Selection form

  4. Assign the required number of "Fax Over IP (T.38) Licenses" and the required number of "Compression" licenses.

  5. Reboot the system to enable the "Fax Over IP (T.38) Licenses" and "Compression" licenses.

  6. Note: If the number of T.38 licenses programmed exceeds the available DSP resources, a DSP alarm is raised and a maintenance log is generated.

  2. In the COS of the FAX machines, enable the following options:

  2. Assign a Zone ID to each 3300 ICP.

  2. Modify the default Inter-zone Profile setting (if required) for the entire network:

  1. Intra-zone FAX Profile 1 supports G.711 pass-through FAX communication. See Fax Service Profiles for the default settings. You cannot modify the Intra-zone FAX Profile 1.

  2. Intra-zone FAX Profiles 2 to 64 support FAX Relay (T.38) FAX communication. You can modify the Intra-zone FAX Profiles 2 to 64.

  3. Based on your network diagram, assign the Intra-zone FAX Profiles to the Zone IDs of the zones. Click the Zone ID of the zone, click Change, select the Fax Profile number, and then click Save.

  4. If compression is required between zones, set Intra-Zone Compression to "Yes".

  1. Configure the FAX machines to receive faxes automatically. This setting allows the FAX machines to answer all calls in FAX mode. Do not set the FAX machines to manual mode.
