Park and Page Mailboxes

Park and Page mailboxes take calls answered by the Auto Attendant, parks them, and then announces the call using either Loudspeaker or Direct paging. Users can then retrieve the call from telephones that have a Call Park - Retrieve key programmed with the DN of the call park destination.

Example:

A department store uses Park and Page to offer incoming calls to sales associates working in the various departments—Men's Wear, Sporting Goods, Housewares etc. When a call arrives for a department and is parked by the auto attendant, a recording is played that announces the requested department and the number of the line on which the call is parked. A sales associate can then retrieve the call from a designated phone by pressing a programmed feature key.

The calling sequence for a Park and Page mailbox is as follows:

  1. An outside caller dials the company telephone number.

  2. The Auto attendant answers with the company greeting and prompts the caller to press the digit assigned to the Park and Page mailbox.

  3. The caller enters the digit on the keypad.

  4. The system parks the caller and pages the requested party to retrieve the call.

  5. The paged party presses a programmed feature key or dials the equivalent feature access code plus the call park destination DN, and then # to retrieve the call.
