When a failure condition is detected, the system removes the RAD from service by placing it into an internal 'Do Not Disturb' state. Its recorded announcement is unavailable until the RAD is serviced and the RAD port is returned to service using the 'Do Not Disturb Cancel Remote' function code. The routing of calls is unaffected.
For the ANSWER PLUS, MCD feature application, if the first level RAD fails the second level RAD announcement is given in its place. If the second level RAD fails, the system continues to give the callers music in its place.
For information on how to program a RAD maintenance set, see Program Recorded Announcement Device.
