A RAD can be tested by dialing the extension number of the RAD port. An idle RAD will answer, play its announcement, and disconnect when the message length timer expires. This allows testing for time to answer, message length and message content. If the RAD is busy, the caller hears ringback and is connected to the RAD when it becomes idle.
