Directed Call Pickup lets you answer a call that is ringing at another station, including an attendant console.
This feature works on multiline sets only when the Prime line is ringing.
Except for calls to an attendant console, directed Call Pickup applies to both local and remote directory numbers. Console calls are restricted to pick up by local stations only.
If more than one party attempts a Call Pickup, the first party will seize the call and the other parties will hear reorder tone.
Users can only pick up calls to other users who have "Call Pickup - Directed: Accept" set to "Yes" in their Class of Service.
RADs and embedded voice mail ports should not be included in Call Pickup groups.
Call Pickup will not work under the following conditions:
You are engaged in a call.
You have a caller on Consultation Hold.
The call is on Consultation Hold.
The call is a Callback or Recall.
An interconnect restriction exists between you and the calling party.
The ringing station is an attendant console that is on a different switch than yours.
Ensure that stations are allowed to connect to one another on the Interconnect Restriction Table.
Enable "Call Pickup - Directed: Accept" in the Class of Service Options form to allow another user on the system to pick up calls to that station.
Enable "Allow Directed Call Pickup of Attendant Call " in the Class of Service Options form to allow another user to pick up calls to an attendant console.
If you intend to use Feature Access codes in Operation, assign a code to Call Pickup - Directed in the Feature Access Codes form. When a call rings at any set in your Pickup Group, including your own, the indicator lamp next to the Pickup key flashes.
