The Feature Access Codes (FACs) form is used to define codes that users can dial to access system features, such as Do Not Disturb. These include:
codes for IP phones and digital phones (that can include * and #),
alternative codes for rotary sets (that cannot include * and #), and
codes for External Hot Desk Users to dial to invoke mid-call features (if enabled in the System Options form)
For more information:
All feature access codes should have the same number of digits. If using unequal length codes, make sure that the longer codes do not start with the same digits as a shorter one (for example, *1266 and *12).
Feature Access Codes must NOT conflict with extension numbers as conflicts may interfere with proper call processing. To reduce conflicts, start FACs with * or #. (This is especially important for External Hot Desk Users because no dialing conflict timer is started when FACs conflict with other numbers in the system. To further reduce conflicts, instruct users to terminate FAC entries with #, which signals the system process the digits received rather than wait for more.)
A # within or at the end of a FAC is allowed. When at the end, the user should terminate dialing by entering another # to prevent conflicts with other longer FACs that also contain #. For example, after dialing the FAC *6#, the user should press # again to avoid conflicting with the FAC *6#8.
The 5302 IP Phone does not support feature access codes that contain the # key.
