Callback

Description:

Callback lets you request that the system notify you when a busy extension or a busy external line becomes idle, or when an unanswered station goes off-hook and on-hook. Note that Callbacks on external lines apply when all external lines are in use, not when the called party is busy.

To request a Callback when you reach a busy or unanswered station:

To respond to a message waiting condition on your telephone (5212 IP Phone, 5215 IP Phones, 5215 IP Phone Dual Mode):

  1. Press the Message key.

  2. Do one of the following:

  3. To call the message sender, press #.

  4. To erase the message, press *.

To answer a Callback when you hear three short ring bursts:

To cancel a Callback:

  1. Lift the handset.

  2. Dial the Callback Cancel Individual feature access code.

  3. Dial the number of the called station.

  4. Hang up.

To cancel all Callbacks:

  1. Lift the handset.

  2. Dial the Callback Cancel feature access code. 

  3. Hang up. 

5220 IP Phones and 5220 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5224 IP Phone, 5324 IP Phone, and Navigator:

To leave a message waiting indication on a phone when you hear busy or ringback tone:

To respond to a message waiting condition on your phone:

  1. Press Message.

  2. If a password is required, dial your password and press the Enter softkey.

  3. Press the Yes softkey.

  4. Do one or all of the following (if required):

  5. To display the time the message was sent, press the More softkey.

  6. To display the number of the caller, press the More softkey twice.

  1. Do one of the following:

  2. To call the message sender, press the Call softkey.

  3. To delete the message, press the Erase softkey.

  4. To view the next message, press Message.

To check for messages from a remote station:

  1. Press Superkey.

  2. Press the No softkey until "Remote Msging?" appears.

  3. Press the Yes softkey.

  4. Dial your extension number.

  5. Press the Enter softkey.

  6. If a password is required, enter your password and press the Enter softkey.

  7. Press the Yes softkey.

To set, change, or clear a password (up to 7 digits, not including 0):

  1. Press Superkey.

  2. Press the No softkey until "Set Password?" appears.

  3. Press the Yes softkey.

  4. Do one of the following:

  5. To enter a new password, enter your password.

  6. To change or clear your password, enter your current password.

  1. Press the Enter softkey.

  2. If you are changing or clearing your password, do one of the following:

  3. To change your password, enter your new password and press the Enter softkey.

  4. To clear your password, enter 0.

  1. Enter your new password again.

  2. If you are setting up or changing a password, press the Enter softkey.

  3. Press Superkey.

To cancel a Callback:

  1. Lift the handset.

  2. Dial the Callback Cancel Individual feature access code.

  3. Dial the number of the called station.

  4. Hang up.

To cancel all Callbacks:

  1. Lift the handset.

  2. Dial the Callback Cancel feature access code. 

  3. Hang up.

  1. Press SuperKey.

  2. Press More until Callbacks appears.

  3. Press Callbacks.

  4. Press Next and Previous (if required).

  5. Do one of the following:

  7. To call the number shown, press Call Again.

5140 IP and 5240 IP Phones:

  2. Press More until Callbacks appears.

  3. Press Callbacks.

  4. Press Next and Previous (if required).

    - To cancel a callback, press Cancel.
    - To call the number shown, press Call Again.

  2. Press FCN.

  3. Press the "Down" button on the left side of the handset to highlight Clbk.

  4. Press the "Select" button on the left side of the handset (middle button).
