Speed Call Keys allow you to store external numbers under feature keys for faster dialing. You can press a Speed Call Key to dial a phone number or, during a call, to outpulse DTMF tones.
If a Speed Call Key is pressed after a call enters talk state, there is no limit to the length of the Speed Call number. Note that Speed Call Keys can only be used during talk state on DNIC sets.
If a Speed Call Key is pressed before a call enters talk state, the Speed Call number is outpulsed according to the calling device type.
If a Speed Call Key is pressed during a call and before the Inter-Digit Timer expires, the speed call number is included in the Digits Dialed field of SMDR records.
Speed Call Keys do not override interconnect restrictions.
You can insert a Trunk Flash into a Speed Call. See Flash - Trunk for more details.
Speed Call Keys are not applicable to 5001 IP phone, OpenPhones, or Symbol Wireless phones.
Speed call keys can be programmed against available feature keys on SpectraLink Wireless Telephones.
See the Feature-Phone Matrix (PDF or Microsoft Excel version) for a list of phones that can use this feature.
Users can store User Speedcalls directly under the personal keys on their sets (see Operation below for instructions). If a user makes a speedcall "private", the speedcall number is not displayed in the system administration tool forms.
The system administrator can program User Speedcall keys for a set user from the Multiline Set Keys or 5235 Idle Softkeys forms. User Speedcall keys cannot exceed 26 digits in length.
The system administrator can also program CDE Speedcall keys on a user's set from the Multiline Set Keys, the 5235 Idle Softkeys, or the Desktop Tool. CDE Speedcall numbers cannot exceed seven digits in length. Users cannot modify CDE Speedcall numbers from their sets.
