Description

Default Value

Default CESID

Enter the value to be used as the CESID for an emergency call where no value is programmed against the calling directory number. If there is no entry in either spot, no CESID is sent. (A default CPN is sent instead.)

L2 Connectivity Detection Protocol

Select CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) or STP (Spanning Tree Protocol)

This field sets the primary protocol that the system will use to identify device moves and update CESID assignments.

  • Note: The protocol setting does not take effect until you reboot the sets. After changing the protocol setting, reboot the sets by issuing the following maintenance command: LOAD IPDevice <1 TO 700>. No server restart is required to commit changes.

CAUTION: If you change this setting, the L2 to CESID mappings may become inaccurate. If you must change the protocol, check for inaccurate entries afterwards and then delete them from the L2 to CESID Mapping form.

Enable Automatic CESID Updating

Enable this option if you want the system to update CESID assignments automatically when a device is moved. When disabled, the system will clear any existing CESID Alarms. When enabled, the system will scan for IP devices with missing CESID and the 'CESID Updating' field set to Automatic.  No server restart is required to commit changes. See Automatic CESID Updating Conditions.
