Advice of Charge Description

Overview:

The Advice of Charge (AOC) feature (Europe only) displays the cost of a toll call on the caller's phone display. When this feature is enabled, the charge for the call replaces the call duration on the display. AOC provides call charges on all display phones and IP consoles.

AOC calculates the call charge using meter pulses sent from the Central Office (CO). When a caller makes a toll call, the CO establishes the call and sends meter pulses back to the 3300 ICP. The 3300 ICP calculates the cost of the call and displays that cost on the caller's phone display. As meter pulses come in, the 3300 ICP recalculates the charge and updates the display with the cumulative cost. If the call is transferred to a third party, the 3300 ICP displays call charge information on the third party's phone.

Advice of Charge is calculated as follows:

AOC = (meter pulses x multiplier / 1000) + (surcharge / 10)

where:

The AOC feature supports both:

The 3300 ICP can be programmed to log meter pulses in the Station Message Detail Records (SMDR). For AOC-D, accumulated meter pulses are logged whenever a caller ends or transfers a call. For AOC-E, all meter pulses are logged to the final party at the end of the call.

AOC is available on BRI and PRI trunks programmed:
