Ensure that the Dual Fiber Interface Module (FIM), Quad CIM, Dual T1/E1 Framer, T1/E1 Framer, or Quad BRI Framer is installed as shown in the Technician's Handbook. See About the 3300 ICP Documentation Set for information on the Technician's Handbook.
To program a controller module:
Controller Module Configuration form. (Dual FIM, Quad CIM, Dual T1/E1, E1/T1, or Quad BRI)
Select one of the following from the "Programmed Type" field:
"Dual FIM" for a Dual Fiber Interface Module
"Quad CIM" for a Quad CIM module
"Dual Framer" for a Dual T1/E1 Framer (Proceed to step 2)
"E1/T1 Combo" for a T1/E1 Framer (Proceed to step 2)
"Quad BRI" for a Quad BRI module (Proceed to step 3)
Dual
T1/E1 Framers form or Resilient T1/E1 Framers
form. (Dual T1/E1 Framer or T1/E1 Framer only)
Click Change and assign a Unit
number (2 - 16) and an optional 30-character comment.
Click Change Member and assign
the interface type (T1 or E1) for each port on the module.
For embedded T1/D4, select "T1"
For embedded PRI or QSIG, select "T1" or "E1" as required
For embedded DPNSS/DASS II, select "T1" or "E1" as required
Quad
BRI Framers form. (Quad BRI only)
Click Change and assign a Unit
number (2 - 16) and an optional 30-character comment.
By default, the BRI interface type is assigned to each port on the
module.
Notes:
If you program the second T1 or E1 port at a later time, any calls established on port 1 will be disconnected when you configure port 2. Manbusy the first port before you begin to program the second port.
