Use this form to download an audio file to a single 3300 ICP node. You can download an audio file and use it as a Music on Hold source, an Auto Attendant system greeting, an Auto Attendant Park and Page greeting, a mailbox greeting, a RAD greeting or an ACD embedded music source.
Note: You can use Enterprise Manager to download an audio file to multiple nodes at once. See your Mitel dealer for information on Enterprise Manager.
Use this form when performing the following tasks:
The audio file must be in the following format:
WAV, A-law or m-law (G.711), 8 kHz, 8-bit, mono.
Tip: When extracting a file from a CD (for a example, from your corporate Music on Hold CD) using a "CD ripper" application, choose a sampling rate as close as possible to 8 kHz. This should help prevent audio distortion introduced when converting a WAV file from a high sampling rate to a low sampling rate.
When an audio file is downloaded, its audio amplitude is normalized by the controller to ensure uniform sound level and compliance with telecommunications regulations.

You cannot download a file during a system backup, restore, or upgrade.
The downloaded audio files are preserved
during a system backup or upgrade.
Note: large audio files, or a large number of audio files may impact
the time needed for a backup, restore, or upgrade.
When the Voice Mail Hospitality/PMS option is enabled in the License and Option Selection form, you can download the Guest Login greeting, but not Alternate Greeting set 9.
When you replace an existing music file or change the music source from external to embedded, callers already connected to the music source hear silence after the new file is downloaded. After the programming is complete, new callers hear the new music source.
When you replace a system or RAD greeting, the new greeting is not enabled until all voice mail ports are idle.
Mailboxes configured to play a standard greeting still offer the user the option to record their own personal greeting via the User Options menu. The personal greeting, if recorded, will be ignored.
When an administrator accesses the System Audio File Update form, the system interrupts the Music on Hold audio (.wav) file for approximately 1 second. Callers who are listening to Music on Hold will hear a 1 second break in the audio playback.
Note: If you download a system or RAD greeting while somebody is recording the same greeting from a phone, the recorded greeting is replaced by the uploaded greeting when all voice mail ports become idle.
Verify that the file is in the proper format (see Audio File Format above).
Listen to the file to verify its quality.
Note: You can only download one audio file at a time. You must have voice mail licenses to be able to download audio files for system greetings.
Under "Audio Source", select the type of audio file you are downloading:
Music and Alternate Audio Source (for System, Tenanting, and ACD Music on Hold)
RAD Greeting
Auto Attendant Greeting
Auto Attendant Park and Page Greeting, or
Mailbox Greeting (for general usage and single-digit mailboxes)
If you are downloading a Music on Hold file:
select the desired audio file ID from the drop down list.
enter a descriptive label for the audio file. If you don't enter a label, the file name will be used as a label.
If you are downloading a RAD greeting, enter the RAD greeting number (1-200).
If you are downloading an Auto Attendant greeting or a standard mailbox greeting:
Select the appropriate greeting set from the list (Primary, Alternate 2 to 8 or Guest/Alternate 9). For the standard mailbox greeting, select Primary. Note: If a greeting set has been given a name in the VM Greetings Definition form, that name appears in the list instead of the greeting set's description.
Select the type of greeting you are downloading (Bilingual Welcome, Business Open, Business Closed or Temporary for Auto Attendant greetings, or Default Mailbox for a standard mailbox greeting). Note: This step does not apply if you are downloading a Guest Login greeting.
If you have a bilingual system, select the language of the greeting. The languages choices available are derived from the VM Prompt Languages form.
Note: This step does not apply if you are downloading a Bilingual Welcome greeting.
If you are downloading an Auto Attendant Park and Page greeting:
Select Mailbox.
Enter the mailbox number of the Park and Page mailbox.
Select the Greeting Type.
In the "Audio File" field, enter the path and filename of the audio file (or use the Browse button to select the file).
Click Update.
A popup message appears indicating whether the download was successful or not.
Note: After all the audio files are downloaded, see Embedded Media Sources form to ensure the audio files are visible.
