Transfer lets you move a call from one telephone to another. Before completing a Transfer, you can consult privately with the third party and swap between private conversations with each of the parties.
You cannot use the following features when you have a call on Consultation Hold A form of temporary hold. It is used to put a second party on hold while the first party is speaking (consulting) with a third party, or wants to temporarily isolate the second party from conversation. Also known as Soft Hold.: Call Pickup - Dialed, Call Pickup - Directed, TAFAS, and Camp-on.
If you hang up before the Transfer is successfully completed, the party on Consultation Hold will automatically call you back.
When a 5302 SIP Phone user who has a call on consultation hold places a second call which that party subsequently terminates, the SIP Phone user must hang up to force a recall if they want to return to the first call.
You cannot Transfer a call if there are interconnect restrictions between any of the involved parties.
Setting the Public Trunk option to "Yes" in the Class of Service Options form, identifies the trunk as a CO trunk. When used in conjunction with the Public Network to Public Network Connection Allowed COS option (set to "No"), users are provided with greater control over the restriction of trunk to trunk connections.
The Voice Mail key on the 5550 IP console keypad can only be used for transferring calls - that is, calls returned to the console because the extension went unanswered.
Disable the Brokers Call option
To display the transfer destination name (and extension number if space on the display permits) when a recall of an unsupervised transfer occurs, enable the Display Transfer Destination on Recall option.
To permit transfers from one CO trunk to another, enable the Public Network to Public Network Connection Allowed option.
