If you wish to program a Mitel IP Phone with a static IP address, refer to the Technician's Handbook.
Ensure the DHCP Server has been programmed. (See "If you are programming a 5230 IP Phone" below.)
Enter IP user licenses in the License and Option Selection form.
Specify IP Telephone Set Registration Access Code, Set Replacement Access Code, and Set Registration Security Code in the System Options form.
Program Class of Service, Interconnect Restriction, and Intercept Handling for each device.
Note: The Class of Service must have both the HCI/CTI/TAPI Call Control Allowed option, and the HCI/CTI/TAPI Monitor Allowed option enabled.
The Mitel Communications Director (MXe Server) does not support the 5230 or 5240 IP Phones.
The following DHCP options must be defined: DNS Server (option 6) and NetBIOS Name Server (option 44).
Ensure that the Call Hold-Retrieve with Hold Key Class of Service Option is programmed.
Ensure that the required Feature Access Codes are programmed. If they are not, users will not be able to use the Feature Keys application.
When programming Feature Access Codes for Call Forward Always, Call Forward Busy and Call Forward No Answer, you must program the corresponding Cancel Call Forward Feature Access Codes.
If you are programming Record a Call, remember that the 5230 IP Phone only supports the Record-A-Call Start Recording Automatically Class of Service Option.
