Hold lets you temporarily suspend a telephone call. While the call is on Hold, you can use other telephone features. The call can be either retrieved at the telephone that placed the call on Hold or at another telephone.
Note: Do not confuse Hold with the wait period that occurs during other feature activations (such as Transfer). This wait period is referred to as Consultation Hold.
You cannot use the following features when you have a call on Hold: Call Pickup - Dialed, Call Pickup - Directed, TAFAS, and Camp-on.
You cannot use the Tag Call feature when placing a call on hold using a Feature Access Code (Soft Hold).
An attendant cannot be put on Hold.
A conference can only be placed on Hold by one member at a time.
If you have calls on Hold and on Consultation Hold, the call on Consultation Hold will be retrieved first.
You cannot use the Call Hold Remote Retrieve feature access code when you have another call on Hold at your station.
SUPERSET 401, SUPERSET 401+, SUPERSET 4001, 5001 IP, 5201 IP and ONS telephones that appear as key lines on multiline sets cannot obtain dial tone while a call is on Hold.
For SUPERSET 401+ and SUPERSET 4001 sets, calls can still be received while another call is on hold.
SpectraLink Wireless Telephones do not provide audible ringing for recalls from hold. If a call is placed on hold and the call hold timer expires, the SpectraLink telephone display indicates that the set is ringing, but you will not hear ringing unless you place the handset to your ear.
A call on hold must be resumed before you can terminate it (unless the held party terminates first).
Enable Call Hold and Call Hold - Remote Retrieve in the Class of Service Options form.
Set the Call Hold Timer in the Class of Service Options form.
If applicable, complete the Flash Type (normal), Low Flash Timer, High Flash Timer, and Ground Button fields in the ONS/OPS Circuit Descriptors form.
If applicable, reference the Circuit Descriptor Number in the Analog Sets form.
If you intend to use Feature Access codes in Operation, assign the following codes in the Feature Access Codes form:
