Set Up Your System

Before You Begin

Ensure that the hardware is installed as shown in the Technician's Handbook. See About the 3300 ICP Documentation Set for information on the Technician's Handbook.

Programming

To set up your system:

  1. Use the Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard to perform initial system setup and user commissioning.

  2. Program the System IP Properties form.

  3. Select Licenses and Options.

  4. Program the IP Network Configuration forms. This programming applies to the CXi, CX II, CXi II, MXe and MXe Server only, unless otherwise indicated.

  5. Note: Programming the IP Network Configuration forms is not applicable to MCD for Mitel Communications Suite (MCS).

  6. Layer 2 Switch

  7. Spanning Tree (also applies to LX, 700-user, and 250-user controllers)

  8. IP Routing

  9. WAN Settings

  10. Remote Access (PPTP)

  11. Firewall Control

  12. Port Forward Table

  13. LAN Policy (QoS)

  1. Program Controller Modules.

  2. Program an MXe Server.

  3. Note: Programming the MXe Server is not applicable to MCD for ISS.

  1. Program an AX Controller.

  2. Note: Programming the AX Controller is not applicable to MCD for ISS.

  1. Program a Universal ASU, ASU, ASU II, or analog board.

  2. Program Embedded PRI/QSIG Trunks (optional).

  3. Program an NSU.

  4. Program a Peripheral Cabinet or Digital Services Unit.

  5. Add users individually or import user data.

  6. Reboot the system. See the Technician's Handbook for instructions.

  7. Set the system date and time through the System Administration Tool Date and Time form or the WriteDateTime command, or for non-MXe systems, through the Group Administration Tool, Change Date and Time.

  8. Program the analog telephones.

  9. Program the Single Line IP telephones and Multiline IP telephones.

  10. Program the Single Line DNI telephones and Multiline DNI telephones.

  11. Program the DHCP Server.

  12. Note: Programming the DHCP Server is not applicable to MCD for ISS.

  1. Program the trunks (LS, MSDN/DPNSS, T1/D4, PRI/QSIG, BRI, or R2).
    After the forms are programmed in the system, additional programming for PRI, QSIG, and R2 protocols is required using the IMAT tool. Embedded PRI Trunks (T1/E1 module) are programmed using the System Administration Tool.

  2. Program IP Networking and XNET trunks.

  3. Program Automatic Route Selection. See Preventing Toll Fraud for important examples.

  4. Program the consoles (optional).

  5. Program Music on Hold & Paging (optional).

  6. Program the printer ports.

  7. Program the required features and applications (see Features Reference).

  8. If this system is part of a network or cluster, refer to About System Data Synchronization for details on how to synchronize the system databases across the network or cluster elements.
